Local business owners open drive-thru food bank

ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — When Gov. Wolf ordered non-essential businesses to close, putting hundreds of thousands out of work, some business owners from Altoona started talking, asking what they could do to help. “[Anthony] contacted me last Thursday,” said Doug Madden, owner of Doug Madden Pro Services. “We were talking about the community with the crisis going on.” “We just wanted to go and help out anybody that’s in need. We wanted to come up with something like a food bank, handing out supplies, anything that people need around the area,” said Anthony Evangelisto, Owner of Superior Detailing and Accessories.

Penguins defenseman Kris Letang returns to practice 10 days after suffering stroke

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — Pittsburgh Penguins veteran defenseman Kris Letang returned to practice Thursday, just ten days after suffering a stroke. The team announced last week that Letang would be "out indefinitely" after suffering his second stroke on Monday, Nov. 28th. "Kris reported symptoms to the training staff and was immediately taken to the hospital for testing," said GM Ron Hextall. Letang previously missed playing time in 2014 after suffering a stroke.
