STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — Earlier this year, several of the defendants in the deadly Penn State hazing case were headed to jail.
But since then, changes in their sentencing orders will keep all four from being behind bars.
It was one of the early questions in spring 2017, when more than two dozen defendants were charged in connection with the death of former Penn State fraternity pledge Timothy Piazza.

With this court order last week, Luke Visser's previous prison sentence was formally changed to no jail time, but his sentencing will include restrictive intermediate punishment.
Back in April, Visser was one of three defendants who, after pleading guilty to hazing-related charges, were originally given jail sentences.
That was mainly due to them submitting out-of-county addresses and the presiding judge's concern about how Centre County's Probation Department would be able to monitor his sentencing orders.
The defendants' attorneys then submitted amended information, and now with the change for Visser formalized, nearly all the defendants originally charged have gone through the Centre County court system without being sent to prison.
