Allegheny County police say a man has been charged with abuse of a corpse after a missing woman's body was found in a refrigerator inside a McKees Rocks apartment building.

Police identified the body as 38-year-old Kristy Jefferson. She was reported missing April 29.

Jefferson's body was found in an apartment building along Helen Street around 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

Court documents obtained by WPXI allege that Jones and Jefferson had a violent relationship in the past.

Authorities have not yet determined Jefferson's cause and manner of death.

Jefferson's sister told WPXI that she was a mother to four children.
