Pittsburgh (WJAC) — In light of last year's shooting, officials with Kennywood Park announced that they are partnering with local law enforcement to increase and enhance the park's safety and security measures.
Last week, a joint meeting was held between representatives from Kennywood Park, the Allegheny County District Attorney's office and state police about improvements.
The new security measures include an increased police presence, improvements to the fence line surrounding the park and a chaperone policy.
All parties at the meeting pledged to work together to advance the shared goal of maintaining a safe environment at Kennywood.
The park opens for its 125th season on April 22nd.
