Former all-star pitcher AJ Burnett announced on social media Tuesday that he will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch ahead of the Pittsburgh Pirates' 2023 home opener.

Burnett spent three of the final four seasons of his career in Pittsburgh, including the 2013 season which saw the Pirates return to the postseason for the first time in over two decades.

Another former Bucco, Russell Martin, will help the Pirates celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the 2013 team by catching Burnett's ceremonial first pitch.

The Pirates' home opener is scheduled for Friday, April 7, at 4:12 p.m. against the Chicago White Sox.
