Firefighters battle Altoona nightclub fire

ALTOONA - Firefighters responded to a fire at an Altoona bar and nightclub around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. They said one person was inside and neighbors helped get the person out. Officials said that person was taken to the hospital.

The roof collapsed shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday night.

More than 100 firefighters were on the scene working in rotations to battle the heavy smoke and flames.

Two firefighters had to be taken the the hospital for heat-related injuries.

There was no word on what caused the blaze. A state police fire marshal was called to investigate.
