Chicken Hill Distillery in Kersey, Elk County, is stepping in to make hand sanitizer.

The owners got a letter from the federal government asking them if they had the ability to switch over temporarily.

The owners say they did so because that's the big need right now, but the business needs containers to bottle the sanitizer.

Right now, they are using spray bottles and smaller bottles with a nozzle on them but are close to running out.

The owners say local businesses in Elk County are helping the distillery by donating products so they can continue producing the sanitizer.

"With everything being hard to get and everything, and there's no hand sanitizer out there, they need something. So, this is where we thought, ‘Heck if we can help and step in and make it and get it to them, it's going to help everybody,’” said Chris Kline

Chicken Hill will be distilling the hand sanitizer until June 30, but to continue to make hand sanitizer after that date, it would have to go through a different licensing process.
