Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — The Center for Metal Arts received a $250,000 grant from the 1889 Foundation, which will be administered by the non-profit organization Pittsburgh Gateways.
Pittsburgh Gateways, along with the Johnstown Redevelopment Authority, has now given more than $6 million in grants to the forging school in Johnstown.
“We really saw this initiative as a transformational project and initiative for our community, and really as part of the social determinants of health.”
The grant will be used to continue to restore and improve the Center for Metal Arts building and help work toward the company’s vision of a metal arts village.
