Domino's Pizza in Snyder Township partnered with the Neptune Fire Company on Wednesday as the restaurant donated a percentage of its sales to the all-volunteer fire company.

The department says it is in need of funding to help pay for the replacement of their aging boiler, and for renovations to their truck room.

In addition, the fire company had to recently spend over $15,000 to help pay for repairs and routine maintenance for their two engines.

"A lot of times people don't really realize how important we are until a series of bad events happen. And unfortunately, there are bad events that happen that end up showing the need for volunteer fire departments, and that's whenever municipalities are like we need to actually look at these guys a bit more than we have been, and the need to be supported better."

The fire company says they have good support from residents in Tyrone, and surrounding townships, especially during the past couple of years when tragedies have hit the borough hard.
