AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Two people were killed and five others injured in a shooting during a private party at a Texas events center.
Just before 1 a.m., Amarillo police were called to a shopping center near SW 45th Avenue and Georgia Street.
According to police, a fight broke out amongst some of the attendees. Sometime during the fight, someone started shooting.
Seven people were shot at Quinn’s Events located at 4515 S Georgia Street.
According to police, two of the victims died.
One died at the scene. The other died at the hospital.
They were identified as Semagea Deveon Smith, 32, (also known as Smitty) and DeQuincton Tequan Taylor, 28.
Six of the victims were taken by ambulance and private vehicles to three area emergency rooms.
"The other five have varying injuries but are expected to recover," said police.
Police told ABC 7 News said there were clear signs of a big party involving lots of alcohol.
No arrests have been made at this time.
